February Inspiration: Music + Film

I've decided it would be kind of cool to share some short posts once a month about the things that inspire me on a daily basis: a little more insight into the work I do, and what keeps me going. I hope it will keep you refreshed and dreaming (and working) as well.

An honest story from the road: New Year's Day

I've been in a small town in NE Oregon since January 1st. I was planning to be in Portland that night. I share this story with you because it's real; it's not pretty or glamorous, simply life. But it's emphasized a truth to me, that even when it seems you have next to nothing, you can create and tell a story.

Portland Family Photos: The Garrels

a documentary + candid-style family session with the Garrels; we started at their home and wandered to the park a few blocks away; games of tag paired with quiet, snuggly moments on an overcast Portland day...

Creative Vintage Desert Engagement: Yujin + Paul

We drove to Joshua Tree from LA the night before thanksgiving - needless to say, it was one of the largest traffic jams in history. We arrived at this sweet little Airbnb, made a campfire, put on some records, lit the candles, and settled in for an early night before waking up to explore Joshua Tree at sunrise!

Travels on 35mm

Driving from Portland, Oregon to Los Angeles, CA, flying to Fiji and on to New Zealand,
below is a sliver of the story, through film, of the past couple months of my life.

New Zealand for President

We left the country on the night of the election. As we watched the live updates on the polls as the votes came in, we were simultaneously listening for the boarding announcement at LAX for our plane to Fiji, where we'd connect to go on to New Zealand after a 12-hr layover.

Journey South

Three months ago, I decided to buy a camper van, lose my apartment, and get on the road more. I travel so much for work that I figured I'd avoid rent for a while and spend my money on gas to take me places instead.
